Vesio provided editing services for Plan B’s latest political music video. The first past the post system in the UK throws proportional representation out of the window; in order to have an effect, votes must think tactically. This music video is as satirical as it is educational, encouraging young voters to get out and vote for what they believe in.
With two days of editing time, Chris Hailes & Ben Drew worked remotely with animators and the directing duo, Paul Casey & Richard Jobson, at Blok Pictures to deliver the video in time for the UK general election. The main challenge on this video came from the time constraints, the syncing and select process had to be run alongside the assembly, meaning that there was a constant battle between the technical and creative sides of editing, with one limiting the other. Chris & Ben worked a full 48 hours straight, alternating shifts and intaking quite a bit of caffeine to achieve the vision. The final result brings together 2D animation, live action performance, green screen performance sequences and 4 different narrative based scenes.
